MÁRKVÁRT Bikavér 2020

The Bikavér, the famous red blend from the Szekszárd region, is still built at János Márkvárt's cellar on the basis of 50% Kékfrankos and 10% Kadarka. The other grape varieties alternate each year between Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon and Zweigelt. The wine is aged for 1 year in old barrels, resulting in an elegant and complex wine.

Medium-bodied aroma of roses, violets, red and black cherries, blueberries and a light, herbaceous tone of bay leaf and pepper. The taste consists of both black and red berries such as cherries, wild raspberries, lingonberries and cranberries. At the end, there are notes of laurel and tarragon. The clear but well-integrated acidity brings an elegant freshness.
