SOMLÓI VÁNDOR Juhfark 2019

The "Somló's vagabond", Kis Tamás, has been working on the mountain since 2010 and is probably the most talented young winemaker. The soil is marl here, with basalt and tuft debris, and the native grape of Somló, Juhfark, a thin-skinned, temperamental white varietal that produces wines with great tension and power on it.

This millésime 2019 is smoky and bright, with white pepper and golden apple on the nose and mouth. Great lively acidity with a mineral finish. Spontaneous fermentation in 500 L used Hungarian oak, and aging on fine lees for 8 months. Certified organic, low sulfites added.
