FIGULA Sáfrán Olaszrizling 2019

The crop of Csopak’s Sáfránykert vineyard, which is the winery’s plot with the warmest character, with proximity to Lake Balaton and typical red Permian sandstone. Like the other single-vineyard Olaszrizlings, following spontaneous fermentation in tanks, it was aged in used 10-hectolitre barrels. It has a distinctive nose with some minerality that continues throughout the palate as well. For the variety, it’s full and smooth, but nicely contained by tauter acids than in previous years.
