The "Betsek", this historical grand cru, classified by Matyás Bél still in the early 1700s, is covered with clay soil, full of rhyolite tuff debris: this vineyard gives every year a rich, concentrated wine, full of tropical fruits.
A blend of two indigenous Hungarian grapes : mostly furmint, and the remaining 20% is kabar, a variety almost unknown out of Tokaj.
Fermentation in barrels, aging in old Hungarian oak barrels for 8 months. Elegant nose, on the fruits: white peach, tropical fruits, linden honey, spices. Concentrated and smooth on the palate, with great vivacity. Long finish on spices, considerable aromatic complexity. Very drinkable, but you can keep it 8 years on.
