Once again, an excellent Áldás was bottled from a vintage that was challenging for both people and grapes. The wine’s backbone is given by the extremely low-yield grapes, from the best terroirs, which serve as the raw material for high-class Bikavérs. This blend is made from seven different varieties, and as per usual, beside the Kékfrankos, Cabernet Franc and Merlot play the biggest role. The wine was fermented in open vats, then aged in 300- and 500-litre barrels. The wine’s colour and nose are both purple with aromas of ink, blueberry and blackcurrant. It’s a zesty, broad, full-bodied, yet fresh wine with a modern structure. In addition to the aromas of red and black berry fruit, sour cherry, cherry, cranberry and minerality appear on the plate.
