Another outstanding Tokaj Dry from this legendary Vineyard „Old King”: Concentration, elegance, harmony, balance and great ageing potential.

Falstaff 2022 : 94 points

Bright yellow green, silver reflections. Delicate notes of meadow herbs and lime, nuances of white peach, mineral background, fine bouquet. Juicy and elegant with delicate mango. Integrated acidity, fine honey touch on the finish, a balanced food companion, certain ageing potential.

I don't really do trophy wines—I prefer bottles with a personal meaning. So it had to be #Tokaj, my adoptive region I addressed in my (arduous) MW Research Paper.
The Barta Király 2019 is 1 of a handful best dry #Furmint, fabulously poised and balanced by the uber-talented winemaker Vivien Ujvári.
It's as good as any Grosse Lage Riesling from Germany or Austria, at half the price. I'm happy to have followed this wine from its first vintage (2008) to its best (2020).
Now that's a real trophy.
