Built on a backbone of Kékfrankos (Blaufrankisch), which contributes more than 50 percent to the blend, it also contains Cabernet Sauvignon, as well as Blauburger and Zweigelt—the latter two both crossings involving Kékfrankos as one of the parents. The varieties were vinified separately and aged in 25 different barrels coming from three cooperages, with the barrels toasted to varying levels. Lively ruby color, aromas of vanilla, violets, ripe red and black fruit, with a touch of smokiness. It has great drinkability on the medium-bodied palate with restrained tannins and lively acidity. It is a great example of Bikavér in the Classic category from Eger. The oak is expertly integrated and subtly adds complexity to the wine without drowning out the fruit. A very versatile food wine.
