Cool climate, ripe fruits, serious substance, good acidity, lots of vineyards and even more varieties: Kékfrankos, Merlot, Pinot noir, Cabernet sauvignon, Syrah, Cabernet franc, Kadarka. The 2018 Áldás was selected from volcanic soil and large barrels. Besides sour cherry, the explosive aromas are led by subtle barrel notes throughout. Juicy and round palate, with a long, mineral and dusty finish. Meaty, earthy undertones with a strong concentration of dark fruit - blackberry and plum to the fore. Rounded off with good oak use bringing in notes of leather and vanilla.
Part of „Decanter Wine of the Year 2020”
A highly individual blend which works very well. The palate is much more lifted and ethereal then expected. Cherry and raspberry fruit give way to savoury notes with a minty, spicey finish.
