Eger and Szekszárd can both legally make Bikavér (Bulls Blood), but the soil, climate and styles are dramatically different. Kékfrankos is the base of the blend and Kadarka adds the “paprika like” spice while the Bordeaux varieties are well suited to add weight, texture and aromatics.

"It was made from the crop of our Ivánvölgy plots. The main consideration at the blending stage was to keep the wine elegant with good-drinkability and for it to convey Szekszárd's spiciness. The proportion of local varieties is higher and we used older barrels for ageing it in. This is our most important wine."

50% Kékfrankos, 28% Merlot, 13% Kadarka and 9% Cabernet Franc. Open vat fermentation, maceration for one week, then ageing in Austrian and Hungarian barrels for a year and a half. Lively colour, elegant nose, rich palate.
