Striking label with a painting of Győző Somogyi that really jumps off the shelf. The name „Daddy’s world” refers to the endearing attempt to produce something by the present generation of Laposas that their father would recognize as his own style and like.
As compared to the present day Laposa-style, the major difference seems to be barrel ageing and longer hanging time. However the oak is not obtrusive, no doubt that in a short time it will be perfectly integrated. It has the capacity to age for up to a decade.
There is a bit of residual sugar that coupled with the oak provides an appealing coating to an otherwise firm and honest olaszrizling. After some aeration the nose offers apples, citrus, ginger and mignonette flower. The palate is quite broad and lush but with vibrant acidity that provides fairly good length. Good fruit concentration on midpalate supplemented by some saline notes. Great balance. Astute winemaking.
